 Welcome, to the Neverending Pool, a community dedicated to Bob Dylan, his songs and tours.
What goes on here, you ask? Well, one of our poolers is in charge of off track betting and poker night once a month, BYOB (Bring Your Own Bob). Another is in charge of all political campaigns for the site. Others have taken on their own professions which you will become familiar with over time. Experts if you will.
We’re sorry that we just ran out of our gift cookie basket for new members (white chocolate macadamia nut cookies with the Dylan eye/crown logo on them). It's been awhile since someone new announced their arrival, and some poolers ate the last of them in their boredom as official members of the welcome wagon. No, but seriously, when a new tour starts you will be able to select songs from lists provided to you (please bring your own #2 pencils -- sharpened) which you believe Dylan will play for the length of that tour. Then you can join a team with 4 other people and compete with other teams while your teammates taunt and flog you over your low scores. You will be given access to your team’s message board and daily ranking for your team.
There is a chatroom where, sometimes, we talk about Bob Dylan, but mostly we swap recipes and stupid pet tricks.
Some people post on the board stating they need a new teammate and others post begging they need to find a team. This is your best bet in finding and being on a team. Once you do find a team, you will have a captain you can ask all kinds of questions. Once the tour starts you cannot change your song picks or your team – you will be stuck with these people for the whole tour.
There are discussion forums on a variety of subjects Dylan and non-Dylan. Each of the forums has a list of rules, written by the administrator. You can find these when you click on the forum. If you mess up trying to post don't sweat it - EVERYONE will let you know and there is also an edit button.
If you need assistance you can use the help link at the top or PM (private message) the admin, moderators or anyone you think might be able to help you. Please make sure that person is sober at the time and is up to date on all their vaccinations.
Admin Thomas here is definitely your 'go to' guy and he happily accepts phone calls all hours of the day and night for all your Dylan related emergencies – which is why his phone number is unlisted. Our moderators, 4th Time Around and Lost John, are also able bodied and ready to help you - sort of like the AAA of the Pool.
So, take a deep breath, dive right in, the water is warm - just don't leave your wet towels on the floor. |
