I hope he plays "Blind Willie McTell", particularly because of the lines:

"Well, God is in His heaven
And we all want what's His
But power and greed and corruptible seed
Seem to be all that there is..."

I like Obama, but it wouldn't hurt him and all the other politicians in the world to consider those lines.

According to an article posted on Expecting Rain this morning many additional performers have been added, most notably Joan Baez and the original Freedom Singers, featuring Bernice Johnson Reagon, whom some here may know from Sweet Honey In The Rock. The original Freedom Singers were incredible, and a couple of their songs can be found on the Newport Broadside ('63) album. One also has to wonder if a certain duet will reappear.

Then again given the blizzard that just hit the East Coast, with more to come Tuesday, one wonders if this will even take place.

Anybody know what's going on? I wonder if this means Bob does not want to have his performance televised.

It appears that Joan Baez has been officially added to the list of performers at the White House. I love Joan, and I love Joan & Bob, but I really hope that they don't perform a duet here and now. Singing with Bob is tricky at best, and I'll bet these two haven't sung together since 1976 - I'm pretty sure that Joan accompanied Bob for part of the 1984 European tour (my memory is flaky), but I don't think they even attempted a duet. And I don't think they socialize together, either.

The last time they sang together (in public) was June 6, 1982.
