Here’s some more information about the album and pre-release activities.
You will have seen the far from informative Press Release and then, hopefully, had a look at the album cover on bobdylan.com together with the interview with Bill Flanagan. What you’ve seen is just the first of what will be 5 or 6 weekly episodes. Additional episodes will go out on bobdylan.com but will also be aired via other media – to be determined. A written version is likely to be serialised. “Beyond Here Lies Nothing” is seen as the focal track and will be aired on the radio from March 31st. From that date it will also be available on iTunes. The album will come in 3 formats -
1.Standard version, in jewelcase with 4-panel booklet
2. Deluxe version, in a slipcase, containing the standard album in a jewelcase plus a DVD featuring an interview with Roy Silver, Dylan’s first manager, which is an outtake from the ‘No Direction Home’ documentary. Included in the interview is the original demo (audio only) of “Blowin’ In The Wind”. There will also be a CD in the slipsleeve featuring the ‘Friends and Neighbors’ episode of Dylan’s Theme Time Radio Hour. There will also be a sticker and poster featuring the album cover image
3. 2LP, pressed on 180 gram vinyl and including the album on CD, as an insert.
4. iTunes – details to be announced but with the one track available early as above. There will not be an iTunes version of the bonus DVD tracks.
There should be a promotional video of “Beyond Here Lies Nothing” at some stage as well as a promotional 7” with “Beyond Here Lies Nothing” on the A-side and a live version of “Down Along The Cove” (from Bonnaroo) on the B-side.

Actually, including the CD with the record is acknowledging the fact that vinyl has made a strong comeback with the new generation. Why do you think every single new release by every new band has vinyl out? For their 50-something year old fans? Ha! Yeah right!
Re:More Info on the New Album 3 Years, 2 Months ago
youre right. i read somewhere that while the sales of CDs are dropping the vinyl sales are rising. Even ultra pop artists release their stuff on Vinyl. It has survuved everything and my guess is that vinyl will be around for many many years after the CD dies.
For many young people like me its either FLAC/mp3 or vinyl. The older generation should remember this before posting messages like these. We buy more vinyl than you guys think. nothing beats a vinyl.
Re:More Info on the New Album 3 Years, 2 Months ago
Whilst you are probably right that vinyl will outlive cds (whose death is much overpredicted) it is a tiny niche market for 'new' music on vinyl and that is not going to change.
Also a bizarre choice to add the cd as an insert to the vinyl package. The best idea, and one that seems more and more common with the niche vinyl indie stuff is to include a download coupon for mp3 files.

Excellent, wasn't expecting an answer to that one that we could take as gospel, cheers John! Do you know anything else about the style of the song per chance? Another mid tempo rocker or something quieter?
