what is going on with the title of this thread?
I'm not sure. What's the problem jackobob?
Every time someone changes the title when they post, it generates a new email alert with that title, for one. What a marvelous opportunity for creating mayhem. Unfortunately I'm recently reformed.
Hmm.
Well I definitely change the title to edit the "status" of the live set for the next upcoming show.

So you are notified of this topic every time the title changes?
Yes.
eg, I check alerts once in the morning before work, and then again after I get home.
Nappy posted under the ...'11/02: NO' title
You posted under ...'11/04: YES'
Then Jakobob under ...'12/08: YES'
Also, a reply to this thread under the 12/08 title will generate an email, if someone responds to a post under a different title, like 11/02, then that will generate an email alert too.
So I got three emails; if the title wording is changed enough, there is no way to know it is a duplicate alert, which has happened, just not often enough to say anything until someone else brought it up. I understand there is an obvious necessity in this thread for you to change it. Other web boards restrict title changes to an admin privilege.

This is creating mayhem?
No, it is only annoying because so far it is unintentional, but someone could take advantage of this little flaw to exasperate people.

Reformed how?
A more pleasing shape.
