I imangine she's a few years older now than in that picture, nontheless, is the "Bimbo" characterization just because she competed in a beauty pageant or is there something else you are basing this on? Not that I'm expecting to have much I agree with her if she chooses to be associated with the Republican Party, but your introduction of her seems a bit unfair.

You're right quite unfair and hypocritical. Imagine if someone throws out the word ni---- with Obama? "RACISM! RACISM! They hate blacks!" Yet, you can make fun of a woman and of McCain's age no problems. I would love it if comedians would do the same to Obama on the late night shows. Watch them to do not go after him with jokes at all.
It's basically reverse discrimination. Liberals and blacks all want to talk about equality, yet cry out and the play the race card whenever its convenient. Why can't we make fun of races equally?

Racism and sexism derive from the same evil, but instead of using a sexist remark as a reason to permit racism, why not just condemn both as a liberal Obama supporter such as myself was quick to do?

this reminds me of a situation that one michael phillip jagger became enmeshed in during the 1980s upon release of his band's hit album some girls. as you may know, the eponymous title song contained the lyrics: "black girls just wanna get f****d all night, I just don't have that much jam." needless to say, said lyrics drew strong protests from various groups, including Jesse Jackson's PUSH. but michael phillip jagger, god bless him, chose not to knuckle under; instead he elected to strike a blow for liberty and he told his tormentors: "i've always said, you can't take a joke, it's too f***ing bad." obviously, it took some stones for him to do this, and i've always admired him for it. in fact, i think we all should learn a lesson from this and that is we should not discriminate against those who have a sense of humor.

i was just musing on the subject of bimbos, benjy compson and shakespeare. as we all know benjy compson is a mentally retarded character in faulkner's the sound and the fury which draws its title from shakespeare's macbeth: "it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." and i thought yes, that's it.

and yes i know many of you will say: yes he's (meaning me) the idiot who called her a bimbo, that passage refers to him. but i say wait a minute. there's more to the matter of just who the idiot is than meets the eye here.

so what does all this have to do with bimbos and vice presidential candidates you ask. well let me tell you.

all of you are scurrying around llike delgates to the communist international because of what you perceive to be the negative connotations of the word bimbo, like it's a synonym for hoochie or ho or strumpet or tart or well you get the point. but i beg to differ with you on this point. for in the sense, i used the word, it "is a term that emerged in popular English language usage in the early 20th Century to describe an often attractive, yet unintelligent woman,”

so in this context, let's look at the situation a little closer. ms. palin is attractive, i think there is no argument on that account. now on the matter of her intelligence (or lack therof) i offer her participation in the miss alaska competition as evidence of her being "an uninelligent woman" (as mentioned in our working definition of "bimbo".

yes, yes, i know you will say but she graduated from college and got elected governor and all that, but i submit to you that since when does it require any intelligence to succeed in politics? for proof i offer our president george w. bush, who graduated from a much better college than halpin did and got himself elected governor of texas and then president (twice).

so i don't know about you but i'm believing that being in a beauty (scholarship) pageant is more indicative of lack of intelligecse in a person than graduating from college and being elected to public office is reflective of the presence of intelligence as witnessed by the current leader of the free world.

so what of benjy compson then. well it would seem to me that the tale is told by the idiots who jump to their conclusions in a knee jerk manner based on a superficial view of the situation and that the tale told by the wise man is the truly radical one, for in the sense of that word, he took the time to get to the root of the matter through careful investigation and analysis.

i submit to you then that ms. palin is a bimbo, plain and simple.

in the end, it requires as much intelligence (and hairspray) to succeed in a pageant as it does in politics.
