If I understand the question correctly, iTunes and Toast also have that option.
In iTunes it is in: Preferences > Advanced > Burning > "Gap between songs: 'None".
In Toast8, it is in the window that opens when you click on the 'info' button at the bottom (Pause: 0 seconds, apply to all) after importing the files you want to burn.
Depending on your OS and software versions, ymmv.
You can also manually change the start and stop times of each song in iTunes to eliminate the second or 2 at the beginning and end of each file, but it is clumsy and I won't bore you with how to do it here.
I use Audacity to edit music files because I can see the waveform and it is as easy as selecting the flatline (ie, silence) at the beginning (or end) of each sound file, and cutting it out by clicking the scissor button. The odd thing about Audacity is that you can't 'save' or 'save as' in the normal sense, you must 'export' the file, and then throw out the original if you don't want it. It is, however, the easiest audio software I have ever worked with. The Swiss Army knife of free audio software, as they say.
Hi Willie,
here the description how I do that with Nero.
Unfortunatley I have here a German version of the software, I try to translate as good as possible.
1. You prepare for making an audio cd, as usually 2. You click on the "add" button to import all the audio files which you want to burn on the new cd 3. When you see the whole list of songs (perhaps you might have to click "next" before seeing it), click one on the first one, it becomes dark blue 4. On the right side of the new box there is now a button named "properties". Click this one. 5. You see now a box with three tabs on top. 6. Click the middle one, t should say Indices, Separation - or something like that 7. You see now a black part of the screen with a neon green graph inside. The green lines is the music. 8. Click 5 or 6 times "Zoom in" 9. Scroll the chart to the outmost right side.
You will see that on the right end there are just the horizontal lines, no more green up-and-down lines. This means there is no more music, just silence i.e. you found the 2" gap. Now we will eliminate it. 10. On the right end of the chart there is a vertical red bar. It symbolizes the end of the track (incl the 2" gap). 11. Grab the red bar with your mouse, it will become yellow. 12. Drag and drop it to the last green mark you can see on the horizontal line. Now that's the new end of the song, the 2"s are eliminated. 13. Click "Apply" 14. Click OK 15. Repeat that story with all songs
You will see, when you do it, it is much easier thak it looks like in tihs description
wavtrim downloads very quickly. it's a small program.
let me know if you have any questions.
basically, you extract the tracks to your hard drive,
then go to the wavtrim program,
hit Start,
and then point the browser to the tracks you want to trim.
