He gave his all, he'd travelled worldwide to please his fans and himself in countless countries and stood to face us at the end, to accept us and to accept our warmth. If i was to make a complaint that he likes to face his musician's during the songs i would possibly be an unappreciative lunatic.
Well said! I am so glad he's not into that "Hello, Chicago!" type stuff. He's not a talker, never been a talker and will never be. If he got ripped every night he could be, but then when he did that they complained as well.
"What's the matter with me? I ain't got much to say." That's Bob to a t. What he has to say is through his lyrics and his performance. I personally am very glad for it.

I nearly let you off for saying you saved 'europes' ass during the war. But i'm not having you saying you invented sarcasm! Also, i didn't nearly fall off my chair, i was being sarcastic..
Was Bob really at a different angle for the Vienna gig? I wasn't at that one but i'd be suprised, pleasently of course...i think we should drop the worries though, only last year i stood a few yards from him as he played the guitar looking right at us - it's an artistic preference to see his band whilst playing the keys and i accept it
"what he has to say he says through his lyrics and performance" = exactly right, and it is a pleasure to watch and listen to

And in all reality, it was the UK and Russia that fought beginning to end in WW2. They did a hell of a job and paid a HUGE price while the US waited to enter the war.

the united kingdom lost 382,600 troops in world war ii
the united states lost 416,800
the soviet union lost 10,700,000
the united states underwrote much of the british and soviet war efforts. equipment and money. ever hear of lend lease with britain?
the large number of soviet casualties was caused in part by the scale of the war in the east, by soviet strategy (trade lives for time) and partly becasue the west was content to let the soviets bleed germany.

The total number of deaths of UK people were 450,000 and USA people 418,000. This represents the UK losing 300% more of it’s population than the USA did. I suppose statistics can be taken any way you want to. But just like my relatives who have did/do have medals from the war – I do not enjoy celebrating or bragging about it. Or really even talking about it.
I would like instead to go back to saying Bob should face whichever way he wants to face…His concerts that I attended this year were beautiful, beautiful events. And last night he included John Brown and Master’s of War, it seems he still has a message some people struggle with. The man is a relentless genius

I love being behind Bob's back, nothing like seeing him dance behind the piano not to mention a more graphic pumping-action, and he is so cute when he does his half turn when he goes to the table with his harps. It is like a pirouette. And the way he looks at the harps is a crack up, it is like he expects to find something unpredictable there, and is always disappointed or delighted. (He generally peeks at the audience when he goes turns back to the piano.) He does play to the Dylan chicks, in front of him, but some days he just doesn't get motivated to communicate with us. I have seen him at the shows come to the stage front and give us Jazz Hands and a quick smile. It just depends, how happy are you every day when you go to work, there he was on his bike having a great day and they put that suit on him and direct him to the stage and tell him to play. Who wouldn't hate that. He is an artist, and an entertainer and a business man, and probably an incarnation of Venus.

Not everyone gets up close, what about the hats? Even if you are on the good side, if you are above eye level with Bob, you see lots of that bolero style hat he seems to have settled on, and little else.

That is where the stupid venues he plays comes in. What is wrong with the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Red Rocks, and other stadium seating? And here comes something good said about Europe, the little venues are better and I think it was Brussels that has that fabulous stadium floor, so everyone can have good views. It is never going to be good for many people in poor venues, just chosen for schedule or the better contract deal. It would be so great if he could do several nights like at the Fillmore or Warfield, or Nokia, like the other bands do (and he used to do.) I guess I would go broke, so Bob what ever you do, don't do 10 nights at the Warfield! Also, now that the Live Nation is having Pass The Line lines, we are all going to be "fighting", LIKE EUROPE at every show...

Bob is an incarnation of venus, it's not something i've considered before - but i accept it.
I too have spent a time staring largely at Bob's rear, his "oh my god what key is this song in and why do the harmonicas all look the same" faces are brilliant. But we should all check where our tickets are before we buy as we know where he's gonna stand..you wanna stare at his face then get to the left
And the smaller venue point is perfect..the best recording for me this year is Warsaw, a tiny venue..and i was at pamplona where the gig got moved indoors due to thunderstorms and into a smaller venue - that was perfect size and was an electric atmosphere. This is now established as a cross-atlantic similarity lets say we have something in common

300%??? that would mean a loss of 1,254,000 more.

The important word is population....The Uk lost 0.98% and The USA lost 0.32% of it's entire population. This means the UK's population loss was 300% of the USA's population loss. These are facts, to me they are pointless on here but just balance the use of other figures earlier which had a different slant. We always did feel the same, he just saw it from a different point of view.
I know we're all having fun about how Bob stands and dances...but who here plays guitar and can't help but shake an ankle and bounce a knee constantly whilst doing it? I know i do it. I am influenced.
