Thanks, Warren. Judging from the first review "Can't Wait" and "Tryin'" must have a revelation. When new (or somewhat modified) arrangements are concerned, chances are high the songs weren't just one-offs. Hopfully, a tape will show up the next days.
He posted a performance art piece whereby a scantilly-clad, tall, babe strutted about a stage, waving a small, red silk handkerchief. She'd hide it, show her empty hands, and then there it would appear. That sort of thing. Thing was, before her act was over, she was starkers, but for high heels, and had tossed in a bit of the bump and grind with the music. It was very well done, and played to an live, adult audience.
Thing was, DSS/s&dman posted this as an mp3, claiming it to be a Dylan song. Of course, it was anything but, but in no way could it be described as pornographic. Racy, yes, but that's where it ended.
Now, my sense is that had DSS added something like "Parental Advisory" to his post, nothing would have happened, other than more people clicking on the link.
But ...I'm not sure what exchanges may have occured between DSS and the moderators.
As I've said, before, I think it was most unfortunate that it happened. At the same time, admin does have some responsibility to assure that user's children are not subjected to entertainment that is adult-oriented.
Any ultimate reinstatement decision resides with admin, but I have a hunch DSS would not give a damn if he were reinstated. It would probably take people like yourself to encourage him to come back and participate in this forum. He does, after all, have The Watchtower.
Without getting into more detail that necessary, I think some clarification is needed here. This post might lead people to believe that DSS was "banned" for posting the thread described above. This is not the case.
The thread was inappropriate, not only for its content, but because it was posted in the "Bob Dylan Forum" rather than "off topic," and purported to be a recording (I think it may have been described as video?) of a Dylan performance. When moderators became aware of it, we decided to delete the thread--just that--delete the thread. DSS was notified that the thread had been deleted and why. He was not banned, only asked to be more prudent in his future postings. His response to admin., which included his demand to be removed from the NEP, is the reason he's no longer with us.

11. Spirit On the Water. I think one of those songs that Bobby just
loves to sing...and it shows. Done with artful grace somewhat
faithful to the recorded take, I don't think it can be improved
upon. Call me naive, but I just love the call and response. "Am I
Over the Hill?" Noooooooo! "Past My Prime." Nooooooooo!
It's the signature tune of the Modern Times Album and I don't
think I'll ever tire of it. He should play it every night. Oh yeah,
he does.
They will still be shouting out NO to "you think I'm past my prime" and you "you think I'm over the hill" when he is eighty
"Donnie gave us a terrific solo - he was on fire all night long."
I hope that by "Donnie" he means Donnie, but I'd be incredibly surprised if he didn't mean Denny. You all know how much I want Donnie to start soloing again.
