I guess Tim wasn't seated next to this guy, nor John standing next to him. Were that the case, there'd be a strong possibility that their toys would be "confiscated." I'd applaud that, as long as no blood was drawn.

normally I'd agree on SD but I enjoyed it a lot tonight. I am getting sick of Hwy61 though.

It was a great show!

No, he did that last night in Zacatecas. ToodleLieu

Can't sword swallower be reinstated? What did he do wrong?

Re:Real time up-dates from Worcester 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
My understanding is this:

He posted a performance art piece whereby a scantilly-clad, tall, babe strutted about a stage, waving a small, red silk handkerchief. She'd hide it, show her empty hands, and then there it would appear. That sort of thing. Thing was, before her act was over, she was starkers, but for high heels, and had tossed in a bit of the bump and grind with the music. It was very well done, and played to an live, adult audience.

Thing was, DSS/s&dman posted this as an mp3, claiming it to be a Dylan song. Of course, it was anything but, but in no way could it be described as pornographic. Racy, yes, but that's where it ended.

Now, my sense is that had DSS added something like "Parental Advisory" to his post, nothing would have happened, other than more people clicking on the link.

But ...I'm not sure what exchanges may have occured between DSS and the moderators.

As I've said, before, I think it was most unfortunate that it happened. At the same time, admin does have some responsibility to assure that user's children are not subjected to entertainment that is adult-oriented.

Any ultimate reinstatement decision resides with admin, but I have a hunch DSS would not give a damn if he were reinstated. It would probably take people like yourself to encourage him to come back and participate in this forum. He does, after all, have The Watchtower.

I think that Bob's audiences would be better served if he paid more attention to the seasonal components of some of his songs, especially those that he tends to play regularly. I was fortunate to catch the debut of "Summer Days." That afternoon was a glorious, fall day. The song was a great fit. But to sing "summer days and summer nights are gone" on the threshhold of summer (at least, in the Northern Hemisphere) is a disconnect.

Quick recap: Overall good show, not great. Highlights were WMB#2, John Brown, and Tryin' to Get to Heaven. Several songs had upsinging issues, Simple Twist foremost among them. Took a while to get the growl out of his voice.

What a difference for me between this Palladium show and the one from the Year of Newport. Did not get there midday to stand in line. Arrived around 5:30 with a family member this time, her first Dylan show. I had no idea what she'd think of live Bob. We stepped out of a cab and ran into Dancin' and BeatTheClock. Then saw Danglin' Rope. If people have different Pool names in this incarnation, I'm not up on them. Spent a couple of hours in the Irish Times and then wandered into the venue.

Bob and I have less energy than the last time we were both at the Palladium. Still, it was a good enough show. I didn't care for the Can't Wait arrangement. The guitars sound like they're playing scales. But it had been a while since I'd heard this one. Thin Man was very good.

After the show, saw Tim and John and Dancin and James and now I've forgotten the other woman's Pool name. Sorry about that. (I met a lot of people going to their first Dylan show tonight.) We were just surrounded by the nicest people all night. Amy had such a good time.

The show had been over for a half hour maybe. Just said good bye to Dancin and James and they just shut all the lights at the Palladium. A cab pulls up with a middle-aged woman who says, "Is the show over?" She had just flown in from New York! She wanted to know if the buses were still there. I said I doubted if Bob's bus was there. She said she knew Bob. I took it to mean she was very familiar with his routine, etc. Amy thought she was saying she knew Bob personally. Maybe Amy had it right because she couldn't be familiar with his routine if she thought he was hanging around.

She had just spent more than $100 for the taxi from the airport and couldn't make up her mind whether to stay in Worcester or start heading to Maine. I asked her if she had a ticket. She was going but did not have a ticket so I gave her the one I was trying to get rid of. Amy had to retrieve it from Dancin who had agreed to try to pass it on tomorrow.

The lady in the taxi looked well dressed and quite sane, but with us Dylan people, you just never know. I hope she gets there a little earlier tomorrow.

Well, I didn't know that you knew that, so I decided to offer it up. Why the upper case letters?
