waits really is a strange cat,
i think this is the first artist that forms his tour in the shape of a constellation...

the constellation gimmick must have been his wife's idea.
if it is not, it will be the first idea he has had since 1981 that did not origininate in her brain.

Hmm.. maybe Kathleen could divorce Tom, marry Bob and turn him into one of the most interesting, challenging and unpredictable artists on the planet - it's a thought!!

Incidentally he IS doing Europe - rumours of shows in UK - Manchester, Dublin and London.

One of the great things about Waits is we have no ideas what his setlist will be - unlike someone else.

On the Orphans tour, when Waits played Akron, I was in Columbus seeing Dylan. My friends who went to the Waits show says it was amazing. I'll have to dig into my pockets to see him this tour in Columbus.

That was a legendary weekend:
Friday night: Waits in Detroit
Saturday night: Dylan in Grand Rapids
Sunday night: Dylan in Columbus with Clapton making the Jimmie Vaughn set worthwhile
Monday Morning (1AM): Waits in Cleveland (yes, we made the drive north to catch the Cleveland show)

He's getting a pretty penny for some of those shows. Ticket prices are outrageous.
