From Gopherstick:

Sound: 8 (compressed sounding, clear vocals, the guitars are utterly buried. As a fan of the bass, though, I love this recording! Take out some bass and in treble and you'll be there)
Highlights: You Ain't Going Nowhere, the second half
Comments: At first I thought the tape speed was off, just listen to how fast Bob tears through Peggy-O. He's singing great, the band is still playing at a white hot level and jamming the hell outta everything. Bob really starts to take things to a new level in the second half of the show, and he holds the pace between the fast songs and slow tunes perfectly.
Bottom Line: Superbly played second half, well worth trading for.

That was my first Dylan show with Larry Campbell. At the time, the general consensus in Internet Dylan land (he'd done a few shows before Boalsburg) was that he did nothing and he sucked. My reaction on the other hand, was FINALLY a real lead guitarist. Later on a friend of mine who'd been to previous shows told me that was the first show where he really stepped out. We hit the parking lot during Rainy Day Women, and Bob who arrived maybe 15 minutes at the most before show time, made a speedy exit. Even with a little jump start, it still took at least another 90 minutes to get out of the increasingly muddy parking lot, total chaos, followed by a fairly scary, heavy rain all the way very long drive home. It was a good, if not great show on a fairly strange ski mountain in the middle of nowhere, though not far from Penn State which is also the middle of nowhere.

I attended this show and really enjoyed it. It wasn't really a amphitheater. It was a ski slope with a temporary stage erected
at the base of the slope. It drizzled through the entire show and the roof of the makeshift stage leaked right above where Dylans center stage microphone was. The event staff atempted to put a rug down on the puddle that was forming on stage but that did little good.

I had convinced my mom, stepfather and sister to attend the show but they left during the first song because of the rain. The local newspaper interviewed my mom before the show. She just said that after hearing me talk about Dylan daily for several years, she wanted to see what the fuss was about. The newspaper article also said that my mom was in her mid 60's which didn't make her happy because she had just turned 50.

I agree with PSB that it took forever to get out of the parking lot.
