One thing I don't get is that in the initial post of Warren's there's nothing that he or Ron Rosenbaum say that say's Dylan was writing "about Joni Mitchell".

I'm not gonna comment much about ragged_clown's mention of the David Blue "theory". Let me just say that unlike the oft-stated assumption that David was somehow an imitation of Bob; there was a complex dynamic between these guys around that time. Bobby may have been influenced more by David than the other way around; not musically, but in other aspects.

Dylan may have "choreographed" things around the time of the Rolling Thunder tour, and certainly during the filming of Renaldo and Clara, partly as a means to deal with twists and turns of the coming together and asunder of various relationships.

Another Minnesotan became a Nobel Laureate this month and

Warren, have you changed the thread title, or have I been having a total brainstorm? all along? If the latter, I apologise most profusely. If the former, the title as it now stands accurately reflects the subject matter and is as good a heading as any subeditor could wish for.

raggedclown, I've not changed the thread title. It's as I initially posted it, to the best of my recollection.

Something looks different about the heading, though I can not recall just what. Wasn't it posed as a question before? Or, there were no quotes around Blue...something different.

He had just stated clearly that the thread title had NOT been changed, when not-harry jumped in to question his sincerity.

not_harry might just as well have shouted 'Judas'.
