I posted the excerpt (and link) thinking it may be of some interest to some, and perhaps, in turn, generate a bit of discussion. Nothing more, nothing less.

Furthermore, the title to the article itself didn't apply to the section that I highlighted in bold text. So, I created something that I thought would cover it. What's absurd, fatuous, or silly about any of this?

I apologise, Warren. Please don't take it personally: I didn't even register the identity of the poster, and if I had realized it was you, I would doubtless have been more tactful. The thread title may have 'blue' in it, but it makes me see red. I really thought Dylan fans had got past the stage of reading his songs as encrypted autobiography. Nothing in Dylan's remarks suggests anything more than that he was listening to Joni Mitchell's "Blue" (either the song or, more probably, the whole album) at the time he wrote BOTT. To make the leap from there that the song is about Joni shows an almost Weberman-like incomprehension of the creative mind.
