"some are about 3 minutes" (which interview?) 1 Year, 1 Month ago
|

"‘What are your songs about?’ Bob Dylan was once asked. ‘Oh,’ he said, ‘some of them are about three minutes, some of them are about five minutes, and some of them, believe it or not, are about eleven minutes’."
I've been googling for awhile, but have so far only found this paraphrased.
Can anybody help me out with info on where and when this was said?
thanks,
-mar

The above quote is from the presentation speech by Neil Corcoran at St Andrew's University in 2004, when Bob was awarded an honorary PhD.
The original quote is from the March, 1966 Playboy interview, where Bob said: "Oh, some are about four minutes, some are about five minutes, and some, believe it or not, are about eleven or twelve".
