silvers are a different story...some are ok with it, some aren't, I mean paying for a boot. Believe it or not there once was a time when the only way to get a Bob boot was paying for it...

I remember those days, I remember the days when the only way you got boots was on vinyl, or on a tape (reel to reel, 8 track, or cassette from someone who had got it from someone who had got it from...) but Skinny Moo summed it up.

I pretty much thought the promotion of the selling of bootlegs was not allowed, on the other hand, it's not prohibited in the board rules. Selling boots should be totally gainst the ethos of this place. If people want to sell stuff just stick it on e-bay or wherever and watch the mugs come. We should only be promoting free trading between true Dylan fanatics here.

yeah, I bought my share of sketchy records from independent record shops...the best from that era was a friend handing me a couple of cassettes of something called Guitars Kissing &amp; the Contemporary Fix, which of course later on became Live 1966 (which I did buy when it came out)

sorry...just thought somebody would like it - it is silver discs with artwork - I paid $125...

Ebay now has anti-bootleg coalition group scanning listings and cancelling boots(sucks)

Look, this thread has been active for a week now. The moderators could have deleted it immediately. I'd have thought they would have wanted to, but obviously they have chosen to allow him to conduct this illegal sale on their board... I don't think swearing at the guy is going to help matters any.

EBay is changing though...the Anti-Bootleg Alliance is a group of ebay'rs that search and destroy ANY unauthorized listing...they will have EBay pull the item and issue a warning - I've gotten 2 -I complained about it but - they dont care....

I was caught up in the sweep - it's too bad really - I understand they're really going after the pirate that makes up the latest Disney DVD or copy the hottest CD out there - but - I have always used Ebay for collectable unissued boots...

I just got a copy of Get Back lp on vinyl - COMPLETELY Bootleg - and available to me as I get kicked off Ebay for selling my own stuff!!!!

Well, yes, they did. I don't remember who it was and the post has been deleted, but it was certainly there - and repeating the exact language here would be pointless and obviously be against the moderator's wishes. The general gist of it was another post saying that you're using this board to conduct illegal sales of material that you don't own the rights to might get this forum &quot;shut down&quot; - but with profanity.

Obviously, he (or she) felt you deserve to be sworn at for making money off of other people's property - in this case Bob Dylan and/or Columbia records - but it seemed a bit gratuitous, given that the moderators have chosen to allow this thread to continue.
