I have a 6 yr old Mac. I'm not sure if it can copy DVD's or not. I think not. Otherwise, I'd be overjoyed to be a part of this vine. I will research my computer's capabilities. I have never attempted to burn a DVD on it.

I'm not flogging OWC, but a quick search brought up these results first, and the articles sound like they fit the specs for your computer. It's a start.
If you've never burned a DVD before, be advised that it can be slow going.
I have a long version copy on file, but the new laptop with a (faster/reliable)superdrive on it is at work - maybe I can burn a copy later in the week and send it along - or would that confuse things?
but i have had true success, and therefore i update the list. thanks to all for your advice. ended up pulling out an external dvd burner that's been gathering dust, hooked it up to a better computer and i now have my copy. sorry for the delay, but i am sending along the original as noted below:

I have the four hour copy of Renaldo and Clara too. I think
it's amazing, def layered and revealing at the same time. Not keen
on the Hurricane Carter voxpops though.

I'm assuming Quanta doesn't check her (or his?) computer on the weekends or something because I PMed her/him to get her/his address and still haven't heard anything.

Do you live with your uncle Ophelia? That brings back memories from my childhood of me and Uncle Gilford running in the yard on long summer days playing tag. Ahh the memories! He was the best uncle EVA!!!!

My family is big and fun, are you the youngest of your siblings?
I don't live with my uncle but he lives across the street. My mom's side of the family is small and we own 5 houses all across from each other so we can remain close. There's a lot of older family members that need (or needed) taking care of. But lots of awesome childhood memories for sure.
Well thank you. haha I guess 22 is young. My parents are divorced and my dad has 2 other daughters now, so I'm older than both of them, but I'm my mom's only child. My dad's family is big and fun though. I'm definitely a family oriented person, we have good times.

It's always hard when your parents separate.
I know what its like firsthand, My aunt and uncle divorced because my aunt could not have children. Her womb was so polluted from the alcohol she constantly drank that my uncle was unable to lay any seed. That was all he wanted a child of his own, I guess that is why him and I are so close, I'm the daughter he never had!
My parents are still going strong though. They are almost to their 75th wedding anniversary! What a joyous event that will be if they both make it god willing. Ma's loosing her mind a little bit and doesn't always make it down the stairs ok.

Yeah it sucks, but it happened when I was only 6 so I'm pretty used to it. If my stepmom's family wasn't so evil things would be a lot easier though haha. oo tough situation in your uncle's case though. I wouldn't want to be with someone who constantly drinks either!
That's awesome your parents have stayed together for so long! My grandfather was 11 years older than my grandmother, so the age difference made it kinda hard for him to make it long enough. That sucks about your mom too. I actually spent the summer having to take care of my grandmother so I know how the elderly can be.

just to go a little further off topic while everyone waits for the DVD to pass through , the above conversation about Ophelia's age reminds me of a perfect Bob quote: "i was so much older then, i'm younger than that now"
