Mr. Prine will be visiting the beautifully intimate Tarrytown Music Hall on August 1st.

A hop, skip & a jump from NYC...still a few tickets available. I've seen him quite a few times...but his last NYC show was fantastic (crying like a little baby). Plus, he's been working on some new tunes.

John Prine, probably the most underated musician out there. Good to hear he's still touring and making music. Saw him a few years back, 04-05 maybe..i'd say the best show i've ever seen. He and Dylan are probably who i listen to most these days.

Pete Seeger's hop, skippin' and jump jivin' too, with

ominous lyrics like, "When the drill baby drill turns to spill baby spill/God's counting on me/God's counting on you." Check out video of "God's Counting on Me, God's Counting on You" above.

After his set, Seeger told Rolling Stone he doesn't write many songs these days, but the oil spill inspired him to team up with folk singer Lorre Wyatt to write the track at his home in Beacon, New York. "I'm a fan of old songs that have a lot of repetition, spirituals," Seeger said. "Some of the greatest songs in the world only have one line, like 'This little light of mine.' "

I'm listening to it now and while he sounds older -- feebler -- than when I last saw him 3 years ago, it's a real beauty anyhow, full of soul.

Speaking of feebler, I remember how people were worried about Pete Seeger after last year's fest. Does anyone know how Pete's doing? Send out a prayer for Pete Seeger.
