Now that the 2008 election is over, reporters are spilling all the juciest, and previously off the record, gossip from the campaign trail. Much of it is about the infighting between Palin and McCain's staff, as Newsweek's treasure trove of post-election gossip reveals.
However, perhaps one of the most astounding and previously unknown tidbits about Sarah Palin has to do with her already dubious grasp of geography. According to Fox News Chief Political Correspondent Carl Cameron, there was great concern within the McCain campaign that Palin lacked "a degree of knowledgeability necessary to be a running mate, a vice president, a heartbeat away from the presidency," in part because she didn't know which countries were in NAFTA, and she "didn't understand that Africa was a continent, rather than a series, a country just in itself."
Palin was apparently a nightmare for her campaign staff to deal with. She refused preparation help for her interview with Katie Couric and then blamed her staff, specifically Nicole Wallace, when the interview was panned as a disaster. After the Couric interview, Fox News reported, Palin turned nasty with her staff and began to accuse them of mishandling her. Palin would view press clippings of herself in the morning and throw "tantrums" over the negative coverage. There were times when she would be so nasty and angry that her staff was reduced to tears.

what in the hell did they expect? she's a demagogue (not a demigod)
Re:go away now palin and joe the plumber 2 Months ago
Her media freshness date expires in 8 days, then she will disappear into the shadows of obscurity. In 20 years' time she will be a minor footnote in campaign history. She is no longer useful to the GOP - yay verily, she has become an embarrassment, and they will abandon her to the wolves (ahem!) as is their wont.
I still think they picked her on purpose to throw the race, knowing that it's going to take years for this country to get back on track, at which time they can then jump back into the fray, take credit for saving the country from the Godless spendthrift Democrats, and promptly get back to the task of wrecking it all over again.

obama spent four days (three nights) in the toledo area, my hometown. he was staying at a lodge just east of town on lake erie. when he first arrived at our airport west of town, obama had a free block of time and stopped in a far out suburb, a conservative township, to do a little impromptude door to door campaigning.
what the hell are the odds that he would run into someone while going door to door that had previously lived in both john mccain's and sarah palin's hometowns, phoenix and wasilla. AND what are the odds this guy would get the chance to give obama this cock and bull crap about wanting to buy the company he worked for and was concerned that if he did his income over $250 k would be taxed too much - our buddy "joe" never made more than $40 k, pays alimony, had been sued for non-payment by a hospital, owed $12 k in back taxes and was never going to be in a position to buy this company - oh! and joe would benefit greatly under obama's tax plan. if a local channel had not had cameras running at that moment and picked up the audio and thought the exchange was quaint enough to run on the 6:00 news, mccain's minions would never have known about the "spread the wealth around" line - which is what happens with all taxes but i guess it's ok to spread wealth around as long as it ends up with grummund, or haliburton, or black water.
thanks god everything else went well for obama in toledo that week (AND he won ohio in the long run). he visited our YMCAs to workout and play ball, had perfect weather to hang out lake front, and was well prepared for the debate.
edit
oh! i forgot - joe "the plumber" is not licensed to work as a plumber and probably worked illegally most of the time he did so.

Yes, yes, very well Manuel.But...:
I aint got the time or mood to translate, it,s friday, sorry.
