Two New Tour Guitarists? Looks Like It 2 Years, 11 Months ago
I know. Yet another Tour Rumour/New Album Rumour thread, but imo, if the news is true, then we're talking a big shake-up.

While I'm at it, I'd like to toss in my two cents; I think it was in '05 (possibly '06) when Denny Freeman was quoted as saying that "[he'd] like to play with Bob Dylan for awhile [my emphasis]."

The source for the new guitarists news is arthurprecarious, and because his comments are innocuously posted in Ferris92's "April Release?" thread, which has been around for a few days (and already has nearly 500 views), they may get overlooked. Btw, songandjiggerman says "denny, not donnie." Here's what was said:

Re:April Release? 10 Hours, 39 Minutes ago

I hear that there are 10 songs which feature some of The Heartbreakers and David Hildago from Los Lobos. Three addittional songs have been recorded for a movie.

Also the two guitarists (Stu and Donny) will be replaced on the upcoming tour. One of the replacements will be Paul James.

I really hope this is true!
I love this current band but i have always wanted a shake up, sometimes for no other reason that just a change. Hopefully Dylan feels that way too.
Lets face it, Stu & Denny are no Sexton & Campbell.

I could care less about Stu, but I really hope Denny stays. He's brilliant.

Same really, i never understood some peoples hatred for Stu.
Hes a solid player and certiantly a staple member of Bob's band always keeping up the rhythm guitar.
My concern with him is his lack of solos like he once did it in 2004 and 2005.

I would certainly prefer Stu and Denny staying, I've grown to like them...especially if the change would be adding Paul James. Yechhh.

Depsite the fact that Paul James is musically a better guitarist?

I have nothing against these two as musicians. What I would really like to see, though, are equally good musicians who can also sing back-up ala Larry and Charlie. I think that would add a lot to the shows.
