Every Bob Dylan Song update 3 Months, 1 Week ago
Sorry to create a new thread for this, but I realized that by posting in the old thread, people were reading the first post only and not seeing the update at the bottom.

So, here's the latest update to my blog. Again, I appreciate all the readers from NEP and hope a few more will check it out.

Edited for 9/7 update:

at the risk of looking like a critical nag (and i really hope i don't because i just started reading your blog and it's very enjoyable) you cite in the present article:

"A grand total of 5 human beings died on American soil during World War II, as a result of an exploding balloon floated onto the Pacific Coast by Japanese saboteurs."

i'd like to respectfully point out that 2,403 people (which includes 68 civilians) died in the japanese attack on pearl harbor, which i think is worth noting.

but again, let me be clear, i think it's very well done. thanks for all your work!

You're absolutely right, of course - I was only thinking of mainland America. Seeing as I was born in Hawaii and walked past battleships in Pearl Harbor on the way to school, that was a particularly egregious mistake to make. Thank you so much for pointing it out - I've made the change on my blog. And thank you for the kind words!

Waist Deep, thank you very much! Your compliment is most appreciated.

country bill, were those countries you mentioned US territories at the time? If they were, then my apologies for leaving that out.

The new update's above.

Re:Every Bob Dylan Song update 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
hey Tony... i don't usually comment on individual's opinions of Bob songs...to each his own...but your criticism of Oxford Town has hit a chord..so why not. i tend to think you are a young guy providing an opinion of a song from a different era you did not live. that's fine, but Bob was young then, and so was the era. that song, to me, and to many of us, was just as important as Blowin In The Wind, Times They Are A Changin', etc. you say it won't carry much weight in the future, because it is dated, like Fixin To Die Rag. if you were around then, those songs are a part of your life and your history. i still pull up Fixin To Die Rag on YouTube. to say Bob wasn't trying hard enough, and his telling of the tale leaves much to be desired, i cannot agree. it told it all. sometimes simple is better. i think this song is a good example of that. it might not provide the full length picturesque illustration found in The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll, but it provided as clear a picture.

nice website
